The $600 payment for the disability candidates was initiated during the pandemic breakdown. On July 27, 2020, Bill C-20 was passed by the councils as an act to represent the pandemic-affected candidates. The payment was made as a one-time paycheck and a non-taxable amount. Many impaired candidates will receive their amount directly. However, registration for the disability tax credit is mandatory.
On July 23, 2020, the Ministry of Employment and the Workforce Development and Disability Inclusion, Honorable Carla Qualtrough, announced that the government intended to make the benefit available for more people and extend the fund for the one-time payment. To receive the one-time payment, the applicant should make sure that all the information on the “My Account” is updated.
- The applicants should have valid Tax credit certificates for 2023. the certificate should be issued and signed by the Canadian Revenue Agency.
